Great info here! I wanted to add that many people don’t get amino acids from food because they don’t have enough hydrochloric acid to digest and assimilate the protein and convert pepsinogen to pepsin. Also, many times when they show deficiencies in one amino acid with a reasonably healthy diet they should be on a multi amino acid not just those to manufacture neurotransmitters.

        Also, 1 capsule of enzyme…:-)

        1. prokopton says:

Try this: 1) Take 1 capsule 250-600 mg Omega 3 fish oil and 1 capsule 500 mg L-tryptophan 1-2 hours before going to sleep.

          2) In the morning, take 1 capsule 500 mg L-phenylaline, 1 capsule 400 – 600 mg vitamin C, 1 capsule 400-800 mg Ginkgo biloba.

Do this for about 2 weeks. You will feel a huge difference in your mental health. The above should cost about $100 – $200 for a 3 months supply. It’s an investment in yourself.

          1. prokopton says:

You can purchase L-tryptophan online. I use the Doctor’s Best L-tryptophan brand.

            1. prokopton says:

A Rutgers Law Journal article observed, “Political pressures have played a role in the FDA’s decision to ban L-tryptophan as well as its desire to increase its regulatory power over dietary supplements.”

In 1989 or 1991?, the FDA banned L-tryptophan because of ONE bad batch from a a single manufacturer. L-tryptophan was used to treat depression before Prozac came along. Four days after the L-tryptophan ban, Prozac was introduced to the public. Coincidence? Most reporters didn’t think so.

              1. GypsyArdor says:

L-tryptophan, I believe, was banned for sale by the FDA quite some years ago. At one point it was considered good therapy to use tyrosine and tryptophan to regulate moods/energy, but then the FDA banned the tryptophan. Maybe it’s available outside of the US, though?

                  Thank-you.

Lots of love to you, too.

Thanks for sharing that and including the background on enzymes in your description.

                    Lots of love to you!

He is a genius. It is now known that serotonin and dopamine are two main neurochemicals affecting those with depression, addiction, adhd , bipolar and other illnesses and diseases.

Serotonin comes from the essential amino acid L-tryptophan and dopamine comes from an essential amino acid phenylalanine, which he talks about here. Both can be obtained from food or food supplements. Dr. Pauling was decades ahead of his time.
